We’re thrilled to announce that Nectar’s own Lead Originator Keith LaShier was named a 2023 HW Insider by HousingWire!
This annual award honors operations professionals in real estate who do critical work to help their companies grow.
If you’ve ever interacted with Keith then you know how passionate he is about growing Nectar and helping our customers succeed.
Keith is constantly looking outside the box to find solutions and advocate for each client. We’ve seen deals succeed that someone else might have denied or overlooked, simply because Keith takes a unique, outside-of-the-box approach to every customer interaction. We’re so grateful for his hard work and proud to see him honored with this award!
To celebrate the award, we decided to interview Keith and find out a little more about the amazing work he’s doing every day at Nectar.
When did you start working with Nectar?
I started in November 2022 as Nectar’s first sales person and lead originator. Before that I spent 13 years as a loan officer and branch manager on the residential side of real estate.
What’s your favorite part of your role at Nectar?
As lead originator, I get to be clients’ point of contact from the very first discovery call, all the way through the application and due diligence process. I also do lots of education for people who want to grow but aren’t quite ready for Nectar. I’m almost like a financing coach, and I love that I can help people grow to the point where they can qualify for our financing. People are so excited to come back when they’re ready, it’s one of my favorite things.
How do you help our clients grow?
I always love hearing everyone’s story about where they’ve come from, where they are currently, and what their dreams are, what their goals are and how Nectar can help them get there. I’m a big believer in the growth mindset. It’s exciting and it’s contagious.
A lot of people are thinking small, we can help them think even bigger. You can really show people how passive income and how we can be a huge part in their future plans.
What does winning this award mean to you?
It’s always nice for my hard efforts and work to be known and understood. To have that hard work recognized by my teammates, company, and the industry is phenomenal. My desire to help people helps Nectar. If I can find a way to solve people’s problems, then they’ll come back time and time again. It makes me proud that my hard work and long hours are being recognized.
We’d love to share some fun facts so our community can get to know you better. What do you like to do in your spare time?
I’ve always been competitive and drawn to sports — soccer, baseball, and volleyball — I played through college. It’s the same reason why I love sales, because that competition allows me to achieve my full potential.
In my free time, I love to read and keep learning, and I’m passionate about mentoring my kids to help them have a growth mindset. I live in Colorado and love to spend time outdoors doing activities like paddleboarding, hiking, snowboarding, biking, and walking my dog.
